Scalenut vs Rytr: Which Should You Choose in 2026?

Scalenut and Rytr side by side, with Timothe's Growth Calendar as a third column. Every verdict and price below is verified against each company's official pages.

The short answer

Scalenut is the one that produces SEO articles; Rytr is a short-form assistant that also writes paragraphs. Scalenut's plans include finished articles: 5 a month on the $59 Starter, 30 on the $89 Plus, and 75 on the $199 Professional, doubled to 10, 60, and 150 under the standing 60% annual offer at $24, $36, and $80. Rytr's paid plans include unlimited generation for $7.50 or $24.16 a month billed yearly and no articles at all, because in Rytr an article is something you assemble.

The gap is everything around the words. Scalenut builds topic clusters from live SERPs, drafts in five steps from a single keyword in Cruise Mode, scores every draft against a GEO target, offers citations inside the Article Writer, and publishes to WordPress from the Plus plan. Rytr's own long-form guide has you generate a Blog Idea and Outline, fix the headings by hand, then write section by section with the Paragraph use case and extend with Continue Ryting, and its fully indexed help centre returns nothing for wordpress, serp, cluster, or schedule. You supply the keywords and you do the assembly.

One documented limit reverses the call for most of the world: Scalenut's help centre states that its software currently caters solely to the English language. Rytr lists 30+ languages with Japanese among them, but all of them sit on Premium at $24.16 a month, and free and Unlimited users get one language of their choice, changeable once a month. Neither writes on a schedule either, one clicks per article and the other per generation, which is the gap Timothe's Growth Calendar fills: it plans months of topics and writes them on the dates it planned.

Which one to choose

Choose Scalenut if

You publish in English and want the articles included rather than assembled. Cruise Mode drafts from one keyword, the GEO score and the keyword clustering are on every plan, and the annual offer buys 10, 60, or 150 written articles a month plus the same number again as rewrites of existing pages for $24, $36, or $80. Read the caveats first: internal linking, content audit, and WordPress publishing start on Plus, the $24 is a standing 60% offer rather than a published annual rate, and their help centre answers directly that there is no API, so nothing else can drive it.

Choose Rytr if

Your writing is short and the budget is the point. Rytr covers 40+ use cases across emails, ads, captions, and replies, matches a tone through My Voice on the paid plans, runs 50 to 100 Copyscape checks a month, and puts a Chrome extension in every text box you type into, for $7.50 a month billed yearly or $0 forever at 10,000 characters a month. It will not research a keyword, read a SERP, or publish anything: you copy the text out, or pay for the content API separately at $0.75 per 10,000 characters.

Consider Growth Calendar if

You want the calendar to produce the articles instead of a person. Growth Calendar plans months of topics as clusters and writes them on schedule in any language, and every draft lands with source citations, internal links, and real screenshots, ready to publish into WordPress, Ghost, Shopify, or Notion. It does not score drafts you wrote yourself and does not track AI mentions, which Scalenut does, and it does not write ad copy or emails, which is Rytr's whole job.
