Markdown to X Article converter

Content tools

Convert Markdown to the X (Twitter) Articles format and see what X Articles drop. Everything runs in your browser; your data is never uploaded.

What is this Markdown to X Article converter?

A free, browser-based tool that converts Markdown into the limited rich-text subset that X (formerly Twitter) Articles support. Paste your Markdown and it maps headings, bold, italic, bullet and numbered lists, blockquotes, links, and basic images to what X Articles can render — and it clearly flags everything X Articles drop or downgrade, such as tables, nested lists, inline HTML, and code blocks. Everything runs locally in your browser, so your text is never uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Paste your Markdown into the box on the left.
  2. Read the converted X Article text on the right.
  3. Check the warnings list for anything X Articles drop or change, with the affected line.
  4. Copy or download the result, then paste it into the X Articles editor.

What X Articles support — and what they don't

Supported: headings (top levels), bold, italic, bullet lists, numbered lists, blockquotes, links, and basic images. Dropped or downgraded: tables, nested lists (flattened), inline HTML (stripped), code blocks and inline code (kept as plain text), horizontal rules, footnotes, and deep headings (downgraded).

Common use cases

  • Repurposing a blog post or README written in Markdown as an X Article.
  • Drafting long-form posts in your editor of choice, then publishing on X.
  • Knowing in advance which formatting X Articles will strip, so there are no surprises.
