WebP defines both a lossless mode and a lossy one, which is why it suits screenshots better than JPG does. At high quality settings, lossy WebP holds hard edges, menus, and small interface labels noticeably better than a JPG of similar weight, while still undercutting the PNG by a wide margin. Set the quality slider to 85 or higher for captures full of text. If an image must stay pixel-exact (color specifications, design reviews), keep the PNG as your working master and publish the WebP copy.
