Resize and crop image

Image tools

Set the output size in pixels, then drag a crop box, fit the whole image, or stretch it. Presets cover common sizes and aspect ratios, and the download matches your size exactly.

Guide

Resize an image to exact pixel dimensions and decide how it gets there: drag a crop box over the part you want to keep, fit the whole image with padding, or stretch it to the target size. Presets cover common sizes and aspect ratios such as 1:1, 16:9, Full HD, and OGP.

What is the resize and crop image tool?

It is a free tool that converts one image into a chosen width and height in pixels. When the target proportions differ from the original, you pick one of three fit modes, so the result is always exactly the size you asked for and never accidentally distorted.

Fit modeWhat happensDistortionBest for
CropA draggable box (locked to the output ratio) picks the kept area, which is scaled to the target sizeNoneThumbnails, headers, OGP images where framing matters
Fit (pad)The whole image is scaled to sit inside the target, the rest becomes padding (white on JPG, transparent on PNG / WebP)NoneLogos, screenshots, product photos that must stay complete
StretchThe image is forced to the exact target sizePossibleTextures, backgrounds, cases where the ratio mismatch is tiny

When it comes in handy

  • A CMS, ad platform, or form rejects your image because it needs an exact size such as 1200×630 or 1080×1080.
  • You want a smaller copy of a photo (for example 50% of the original) without opening an image editor.
  • You need a 16:9 or 1:1 version of a photo and want to control which part stays in frame.
  • A logo must land on a fixed canvas without being cut, so you fit it with transparent padding.

How to use

  1. Drop a PNG, JPG, or WebP image, or click to choose one. The size fields start at the original dimensions.
  2. Set the output size: type width and height, use the 25% / 50% / 75% chips, pick an aspect ratio such as 16:9, or choose a preset like Full HD or OGP. The ratio lock keeps the original proportions while you type.
  3. Choose the fit mode. In crop mode, drag the box on the image to frame the kept area; the box follows the output ratio automatically.
  4. Check the live preview, pick PNG / JPG / WebP if you want a different format, and press Resize & download.

Example: a 4000×3000 photo with the OGP preset (1200×630) in crop mode. Drag the box onto the subject and download photo-1200x630.png, ready to use as a share image.

Notes

  • Enlarging past the original size cannot add detail, so strong upscales look soft. For AI-based enlargement use Upscale image.
  • Animated GIFs are treated as a still image, so only a single frame is exported.
  • JPG has no transparency: transparent areas and fit-mode padding are filled with white. Keep PNG or WebP when you need alpha.
  • To trim an image at its original resolution without resizing, use Crop / trim image. To export one image into many social sizes at once, use SNS image resizer. To shrink the file size rather than the dimensions, use Image compressor.
