What is this line break cleaner?
A free, browser-based tool that cleans up messy line breaks in pasted text. It joins soft-wrapped lines back into continuous paragraphs and collapses runs of blank lines into one — or removes blank lines entirely. Intended paragraph breaks (blank lines) are preserved, so only the unwanted breaks are removed. Everything runs locally in your browser, so your text is never uploaded.
How to use it
- Paste your text into the box on the left.
- Choose how to treat blank lines — collapse runs to one, or remove them all.
- Toggle joining soft-wrapped lines, and pick a join separator: a space for English, or nothing for Japanese / Chinese.
- Copy the cleaned text or download it as a text file.
Common use cases
- Reflowing text copied from a PDF, where every visual line ends in a hard break.
- Cleaning up quoted emails or chat logs with lots of empty lines between paragraphs.
- Preparing pasted content for a CMS or blog editor so it flows as proper paragraphs.
