Frase vs Copy.ai: Which Should You Choose in 2026?
Frase and Copy.ai side by side, with Timothe's Growth Calendar as a third column. Every verdict and price below is verified against each company's official pages.
The short answer
Frase, for anything that ends up on your blog, and the pricing pages settle it before the features do. Frase sells finished articles: 10 a month at $39 billed yearly, 40 at $103, and 100 at $239, all written by Frase, with extra articles at $5 on Professional and $4 on Scale once pay-as-you-go is switched on (Starter simply stops at its limit). Copy.ai publishes no article allowance at any price. Chat at $24 billed yearly ($29 monthly) buys five seats and no workflow credits, and credits start at Growth for $1,000 a month (20,000), then $2,000 for 45,000 and $3,000 for 75,000. Copy.ai's own FAQ says a credit is a unit of compute and that every run costs a different amount, so the cost of an article is knowable in advance on one of these two and not on the other.
The gap widens after the draft exists. Frase publishes into WordPress, Webflow, Sanity, Wix, or its own hosted FraseCMS, carrying images, meta tags, and an optional future publish date, and it includes an MCP server and an API on every plan (250, 1,000, and 3,000 requests a month by tier). Copy.ai's documented document destinations are Google Docs and Microsoft OneDrive, and no CMS appears anywhere in its changelog, so finished text leaves through the Workflows API or a webhook that POSTs workflowRun.completed to a URL of your own, with API access listed under Enterprise. That webhook is the one delivery route Frase does not have, which matters only if you are wiring the output into something you built.
Both sell an agent, and the word means different things. Frase's researches, drafts in your brand voice, scores the result for SEO and for AI search, and prepares the publish, but the content calendar and auto-publish start at Professional, autonomy is earned content type by content type with every type beginning in review under a monthly cap, and autonomous publishing currently applies to pages hosted on FraseCMS. Copy.ai's agents live inside workflows you build, and the schedule trigger will run one hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly: reliable, and completely uninterested in what the article should be about, since there is no content calendar and no cluster map. Neither ships a plan you approve once and then leave alone, which is what Timothe's Growth Calendar does from its first plan.

Which one to choose
Choose Frase if
You want the subscription to include the articles and to put them on the site: 10, 40, or 100 finished pieces a month, published into WordPress, Webflow, Sanity, Wix, or FraseCMS with images and meta tags, brand voice on every plan, SEO and GEO scores on every draft, AI Visibility monitoring across ChatGPT and Google AI (more engines higher up), and MCP plus an API on every plan. The 7-day trial takes no card, so you can read the output first. What waits for Professional at $103: the content calendar, internal linking suggestions, and the agent's auto-publish. Keyword research lives inside briefs with no volume research, extra seats are $29 a month, and there is no webhook.
Choose Copy.ai if
The blog is not the point. Copy.ai earns its price when writing is one step in a go-to-market operation and the value is the workspace around it: Workflows, Actions, Agents, Tables, an Infobase of guidelines, a Brand Voice shared across seats, plus prospecting, CRM enrichment, ABM, and localization of assets you already have. It also runs on a schedule and hands results over a webhook. Count the cost properly: $24 a month billed yearly for Chat is seats only, workflow credits start at $1,000 a month, Expansion and Scale at $2,000 and $3,000 route to an accounts team, API access sits at Enterprise, and there is no free tier and no trial.
Consider Growth Calendar if
You do not want to unlock the autopilot or build it. Growth Calendar plans months of topics as clusters and writes them on schedule from the first plan, with source citations, internal links, real screenshots, and YouTube videos found during research already in the draft, then publishes into WordPress, Ghost, Shopify, and Notion or POSTs the Markdown to your own endpoint. It does not score drafts for SEO or AI search and does not monitor AI mentions, both of which Frase does, and it does not reach Webflow, Sanity, or Wix.

Copy.ai plans
| Plan | Price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Chat | $24/mo billed yearly ($29/mo monthly) | No article allowance: 5 seats prompt Chat for one draft at a time and you carry each one out by hand |
| Growth | $1,000/mo billed yearly | 20,000 workflow credits a month for the whole workspace. Credit cost per run is not published, so the article count depends on the workflow you build |
| Expansion | $2,000/mo billed yearly | 45,000 workflow credits a month and 150 seats. The step up over Growth is credits and seats, not a stated number of articles |
